Date online: 17/12/2014
Nosheen Bukhari, solicitor in our private client department, frequently encounters clients who have been diagnosed with the early signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
In order to obtain a better understanding of dementia, she became aware of a social enterprise run by the Alzheimer’s Society called Dementia Friends.
Nosheen attended a dementia information session which aroused her interest in trying to encourage others to become more dementia friendly.
Having undertaken training she became a Dementia Friends Champion and was able to train all the staff at Molesworths Solicitors to become dementia friends and thereby create a dementia friendly working environment.
Nosheen attended an arts for dementia therapy morning held at Rochdale’s Multicultural Arts and Media Centre which further ignited her interest and passion to become more aware of ways in which the arts can help individuals diagnosed with dementia.
As a firm we are hopeful to maintain our commitment to creating dementia friendly communities and being involved with local community groups to ensure was can use these resources to assist our friends, families and clients.
Molesworths Solicitors are the first Rochdale Solicitors to have every member of staff as dementia friends.
